Abstract

In this paper, an efficient intramolecular DBU-catalyzed Rauhut-Currier reaction has been described to access functionalized biaryl-fused cycloheptatriene derivatives. The method is operationally simple, displays broad substrate compatibility, and consistently delivers the products in good to excellent yields with high diastereoselectivities. The scalability of the process to gram-scale syntheses, combined with facile postsynthetic functionalizations, underscores the flexibility and usefulness of this strategy.
