Artificial intelligence (AI) is reshaping modern education by enabling data-driven, adaptive, and continuous feedback processes that support personalized learning and student engagement. The traditional method focusses on the feedback provided by the instructor. But with the emergence of the AI system, there has been a 360-degree turn within the educational system. The AI systems help in collecting and analyzing the data in real time. This assists in identifying the challenges, predicting the performance of the learners, and assisting in refining the instructional strategies that have substantially reshaped the modern-day educational systems. The AI-based feedback loop works on collecting data, uses algorithms, and develops cognitive thinking to make teaching and learning a two-way process. The past research has addressed the concepts of automated grading, intelligent tutoring, and imperative content delivery, but not much work has been done in analyzing how the AI-generated feedback loops have worked towards transforming personalized assessment and student engagement. The existing conceptual models like AIED (Artificial Intelligence in Education) and other learning analytics provide the base for personalization, but they do not address how the AI-generated feedback mechanism helps in shaping the engagement of the students to a larger extent. This pinpoints that there is a need for a more robust and deeper study in developing a more integrated approach for connecting the AI generated feedback loop, adaptive learning pathways, engagement processes, and a more personalized assessment framework. This study delves deeper into the potential of the AI-generated feedback loop within the personalized assessment mechanism and an adaptive learning pathway that influences student engagement significantly. This study explores the scope of control value theory of achievement emotions by examining how adaptive assessments pathways and personalized assessment enhance the learners’ engagement.
