Key Points

  • The aim is to evaluate the performance of the gas gain monitoring system in the CMS muon detector.
  • Utilized the gas gain monitoring system to measure detector responses.
  • Monitored shifts in working points based on variations in gas mixtures.
  • Conducted experiments at the LHC to assess sensitivity to environmental changes.
  • The gas gain monitoring system accurately detected shifts in the muon detector's working point.
  • Significant responsiveness to changes in gas mixtures was noted, indicating system reliability.

Abstract

Results from the gas gain monitoring (GGM) system for the muon detector using RPC in the CMS experiment at the LHC is presented. The system is designed to provide fast and accurate determination of any shift in the working point of the chambers due to gas mixture changes.
