Case study demonstrates improvement in obsessive-compulsive symptoms using imagery techniques, suggesting effective therapy for OCD.
Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) is a common clinical mental disorder with complex etiologies. At present, there are many psychological treatments for OCD with varying therapeutic effects. In this case study, Imagery Construction Technique, an innovative sub-technique of Imagery Communication Psychotherapy, was adopted. Through sub-personality splitting, sub-personality environment mapping and storytelling, the client’s psychological state was revealed, inner conflicts were relieved, and obsessive-compulsive symptoms were improved, achieving favorable therapeutic effects.
