Demonstrates improved energy storage in a zinc MOF@MXene composite, suggesting advanced applications in electronics.
The rapid development of advanced energy storage device is suffering from limited electric conductivity, less redox active sites, long-term structural stability and durability of the electrode materials. In this context, a 2D conductive Zinc based MOF was combined with MXene in different ratios. Composite C-100 showed an impressive specific capacity of 333.2 C/g at 0.5 A/g current density which was further integrated into hybrid device C-100//AC to check its practicability. The device exhibited specific capacity of 239 C/g, energy density of 49.8 Wh/kg, power density of 3222.7 W/kg and 99.8% coulombic efficiency after 10,000 cycles. C-100 synergistically provided greater surface area, fast charge storage kinetics and high conductivity by incorporation of MXene in optimized amount. This work bridges the gap between batteries and supercapacitors for generation of futuristic energy storage devices.
