The Front Cover illustrates the structure of a newly synthesized and studied zinc phthalocyanine-pyrroloperylenediimide dyad connected through a nitrogen heteroatom. Solvent-polarity-dependent singlet–singlet energy transfer and electron-transfer quenching were inferred from absorption and fluorescence studies supported by electrochemical and TD-DFT studies. Ultrafast pump–probe spectroscopic studies provided evidence for these events. The persistence of the charge-separated state in the present dyad highlights the role of the heteroatom linkage in regulating electron-transfer dynamics.
