Abstract

Abstract: Youth and women empowerment have become a core aspect in the modern nation-building process especially in societies that are experiencing a high rate of social, economic, and technological change. This paper that discusses the roles of the youth and women as active agents of development, social change and involvement in democracy besides demonstrating the structural, cultural and institutional barriers that stifle their potential. Based on the interdisciplinary view, the study examines the opportunities that are brought about by education, skill development, digital inclusion, entrepreneurship, and political representation. It also examines the chronic barriers like inequality in gender, unemployment, low access to resources, stereotyping of society and gaps in the implementation of policies which have a disproportionate impact on marginalised groups. This paper states that sustainable nation-building would be achieved through a comprehensive, humanistic approach that considers youth and women as participants and not passive beneficiaries in the development of their communities, innovation, and social cohesion. Their participation and leadership in different sectors can be greatly strengthened by institutional frameworks, broadening of inclusive policies and enabling environment. Finally, the paper highlights the necessity of humanizing the empowerment processes based on dignity, equity, and social justice, to have a tough, inclusive, and progressive country.
