Abstract

In Western Uganda, sustainable coffee production is increasingly recognised as crucial for environmental conservation and economic development. A mixed-methods approach combining surveys with focus group discussions to assess consumer preferences and farmer adoption rates. Survey results indicate that 60% of consumers prefer environmentally friendly products, while 75% of farmers are willing to adopt new packaging technologies for their coffee. Eco-friendly packaging innovations have significant market potential in Western Uganda's sustainable coffee sector. Government subsidies and farmer training programmes should be implemented to accelerate the adoption of eco-friendly packaging solutions.
