This research analyzes the impact of Pix, Brazil’s instant payment system launched by the Banco Central do Brasil, on financial inclusion and everyday financial behavior. The study investigates how the rapid adoption of Pix has transformed access to digital payments, particularly among young people and populations that previously relied on cash transactions. By examining publicly available data, reports, and user behavior patterns, the research explores how instant transfers, zero-cost transactions, and widespread smartphone usage contributed to expanding participation in the formal financial system. The project also discusses how Pix influenced small businesses, informal workers, and peer-to-peer transactions, highlighting its role in accelerating the digitalization of payments in Brazil and reshaping how people interact with money in their daily lives.
