The purpose of this qualitative case study was to examine the lived experiences of 15 students from the Baptist Missionary Association Theological Seminary who were trained to use inductive people-helping questions in human interactions. Participants shared their perceptions of the usefulness of inductive questioning in interpersonal helping. Key themes emerged, including improved listening skills, enhanced empathy, a greater appreciation for questioning as a tool, recognition of the importance of being present, and an understanding of people as Living texts .
