Key Points

  • The study aims to evaluate retinoblastoma seeds using laser technology for differentiation between active and inactive seeds.
  • In vitro evaluation of retinoblastoma seeds
  • Utilization of red and green lasers
  • Visualization of seeds in enucleated eyeballs
  • Active seeds identified by electron dense clouds
  • Inactive seeds distinguished from active ones based on configuration

Abstract

Use of laser in the present study was first of its kind, carried out to visualize RB seeds at different sites in raw or wet specimens of the enucleated eyeballs. By this technique, active seeds could be differentiated from the inactive seeds based on electron dense clouds within the seeds' configurations.
