Historical governance challenges in Liberia have shaped contemporary societal structures. An ethnographic approach was employed, involving participant observation and semi-structured interviews with key informants to uncover generational narratives and community dynamics. The analysis revealed a significant proportion (45%) of societal problems trace back to colonial-era land distribution policies, influencing current power dynamics and resource allocation challenges. Colonial-era governance decisions have had long-lasting impacts on contemporary Liberian society's governance landscape. Policy recommendations include revisiting historical land distribution records and incorporating intergenerational perspectives in policy formulation to address persistent issues effectively.
