Zebrafish testis development reveals the role of steroid hormone signaling and molecular regulation mechanisms.
Zebrafish is an ideal model organism for reproductive development research in vertebrates, and their testis development is regulated by steroid hormone signaling core. By binding to specific nuclear receptors, steroid hormones regulate the target gene expression downstream, precisely regulate spermatogonial cell proliferation, meiosis initiation and sperm maturation. Based on the physiological characteristics of zebrafish testis development, this paper expounds the regulation of anabolism of main steroid hormones, and analyzes the molecular regulation mechanism of androgen, estrogen and progesterone signaling pathway and the synergistic antagonistic network among hormones.
