This letter proposes a new method to share resource maps in vehicles to reduce collisions, suggesting improvements in traffic scenarios.
The sensing‐based semi‐persistent scheduling (SB‐SPS) mechanism in 5G new radio vehicle‐to‐everything Mode 2 suffers from wireless blind spots caused by hidden terminals and half‐duplex constraints, which can lead to persistent collisions in dense traffic. This letter proposes a resource map sharing service, where a roadside unit aggregates a wider‐area resource‐occupancy map and shares it with vehicles to filter SB‐SPS candidates. We analyse interface‐dependent delivery of the resource map sharing message: PC5 enables low‐latency bitmap sharing, while Uu supports a bitmap with reselection counter information to compensate for map staleness at vehicle user equipment under higher latency.
