This Training Module enhances employability through skill development in youth, suggesting a stronger education-industry connection.
This Open Educational Resource consists of presentation slides prepared and delivered as part of a Training of Trainers (ToT) programme organized by SEEDAP (Society for Employment Generation and Enterprise Development in Andhra Pradesh). The presentation introduces trainers to the concept of the skilling ecosystem in India and the role of trainers in strengthening employability-oriented skill development programmes. The training module explains the importance of skill development in the context of economic growth, youth employment, and entrepreneurship development. It discusses the emerging need for a strong linkage between education, vocational training, industry expectations, and workforce readiness. The presentation also highlights the importance of communication skills, professional attitudes, and workplace competencies that support successful employment outcomes. The module provides trainers with an overview of how different stakeholders—government agencies, training institutions, industry partners, and trainers—contribute to building a sustainable skilling ecosystem. It emphasizes the trainer’s responsibility in shaping learners’ abilities, confidence, and professional behaviour through effective training methodologies. This resource can be used by trainers, educators, skill development institutions, employability training programmes, and vocational education initiatives working to improve youth employability and entrepreneurship development.
