Swarmalators are a class of nonlinear dynamical systems that combine the swarming behavior of agents—entities with positions and phase values that interact—with the oscillatory dynamics of coupled phase oscillators, exhibiting a unique coupling between their positions and internal phases. In this paper, we formulate and numerically study a model of swarmalator dynamics in which the agents are oscillating modes in a gyrotron cavity; therefore, we call it the gyro-swarmalator. This study follows previous investigations into the parallels between models of gyrotron physics and the theoretical approaches used in other scientific fields.
