Systematic literature review examines Bourdieu's theory in entrepreneurship, suggesting new research avenues.
This study conducts a Systematic Literature Review to examine how Pierre Bourdieu’s theory has been mobilized in entrepreneurship research. The review aims to identify the main bourdieusian concepts employed, such as capital, habitus, field, and practice, the predominant theoretical framings, the methodological approaches adopted, and the empirical contexts investigated. Additionally, the study seeks to analyze the stated justifications for using Bourdieu’s framework and to assess the theoretical contributions and limitations emerging from this body of work. By systematically mapping and critically synthesizing the literature, the review intends to clarify the role of bourdieusian sociology in entrepreneurship research and to identify gaps and future research directions.
