This study employs a qualitative research approach to analyse existing literature on community involvement in arts and humanities projects across West Africa, with a focus on South African contexts. This theoretical framework underscores the importance of integrating community voices into arts and humanities programming to enhance authenticity and relevance. Future research should prioritise collaborative projects that involve local communities as primary partners, ensuring their perspectives are central to project design and execution.
