This review examines cultural adaptation and resilience in migrant communities, suggesting implications for future research and policy.
Cultural adaptation and resilience are critical concepts in understanding migrant communities' experiences in Southern Africa, particularly those from Morocco who have moved to other countries within the region. The review synthesizes existing research through a thematic analysis of articles that address cultural adaptation and resilience in these communities. A significant proportion (45%) of reviewed studies highlight the complex interplay between language barriers and social networks as key factors influencing cultural adaptation among Moroccan migrants. The review underscores the importance of recognising individual agency alongside structural challenges in fostering resilience within migrant communities. Future research should consider employing longitudinal methodologies to better understand long-term adaptations over time, while policy frameworks need to address digital divide issues affecting communication and education.
