Afrofuturism is a contemporary cultural movement that explores African identities through futuristic lenses, often blending science fiction with history and politics. This study employs thematic analysis to examine Afrofuturist literature from various Nigerian sources including academic journals, public forums, and social media platforms. Data is analysed for recurring motifs, trends, and implications for future development policies in Nigeria. The findings reveal a significant emphasis on technological advancement and environmental sustainability as key themes across various Afrofuturist narratives. These themes are particularly prevalent among young Nigerian intellectuals and activists who advocate for inclusive growth strategies. Nigerian Afrofuturism provides valuable insights into potential future trajectories of the country, highlighting areas where policy attention should be focused to ensure equitable development outcomes. Recommendations include integrating Afrofuturist perspectives in educational curricula and public discourse, fostering partnerships between academia and industry on sustainable technologies, and engaging with youth through Afrofuturist storytelling initiatives.
