Open Data initiatives have gained traction globally as a means to enhance transparency in government operations. Algeria has initiated several open data projects aimed at improving governance and public service delivery. The study employs a qualitative comparative analysis (QCA) approach to examine case studies of selected open data projects in Algeria. Data collection includes interviews with officials, public consultations, and an assessment of existing open data platforms. An analysis of the open data initiatives revealed that while some projects have successfully increased citizen engagement and service delivery efficiency, there is a notable lack of comprehensive governance transparency across different sectors, such as healthcare and education. This gap is particularly pronounced in rural areas where access to information remains limited. The findings suggest that while Algeria has made strides in open data implementation, further efforts are needed to ensure consistent coverage and meaningful engagement with all stakeholders, especially in underserved regions. To enhance governance transparency, the government should prioritise developing a comprehensive national open data strategy, incorporating robust feedback mechanisms and ensuring equitable access to information across all geographic areas.
