This poster outlines recommendations for improving self-regulation reporting frameworks in disinformation governance, suggesting implications for better practices.
This poster outlines key recommendations for improving the reporting framework of platform self-regulation in the context of disinformation governance at the European level. Based on an analysis of existing reporting practices, it identifies major shortcomings in standardisation, transparency, and comparability, particularly regarding the presentation of quantitative data, the definition of content categories, and the assessment of impact. The proposed framework emphasises harmonised reporting guidelines, clear performance indicators, inclusion of AI-related practices, and systematic disclosure of regulatory scope, aiming to enable meaningful cross-platform and cross-country comparisons as well as independent auditing.
