This report investigates Kibble balance calibration for metrology, indicating potential cost reductions in measurement systems.
This report describes investigations on the viability of a Kibble type calibration in a single ac-tuator setup. This type of setup allows a significant geometrical and economical downscaling of a Kibble system, which is prerequisite for its use in the fields of force, torque and pressure metrology. Further investigations were done on the sequential measurement of the relevant quantities, which further reduces the cost of a suitable signal processing system. The methods were successfully tested in a demonstrator setup and the electrical and mechanical uncertainty contributions were analysed and modelled for a potential correction of their influence. The im-plementation of a Kibble calibration for the mentioned derived quantities is especially promising for the realization of dynamic quantities.
