Abstract

ABSTRACT We present the complete genome sequences of Vibrio sp. strains that degrade algal sulfated polysaccharide, ulvan. Polysaccharide utilization loci (PULs) were found in all ulvan-utilizing strains. A comparison of PULs between Alteromonas and Vibrio will elucidate the ulvan degradation pathway.
