Unemployment and its far-reaching consequences significantly challenge sustainable development, particularly in developing countries. The rise of technopreneurship, however, offers a promising pathway to address unemployment while fostering the growth of knowledge-based economies. This study examined the multifaceted nature of unemployment and explored how technopreneurship can be strategically leveraged for sustainable solutions. Findings highlight that while unemployment is a global issue, it is more acute in developing regions, which lag behind developed regions in the number of technology hubs and high-technology exports. The study underscores technopreneurship's potential to mitigate unemployment, advance Sustainable Development Goal 8, and accelerate the transition to knowledge-driven economies. Thus, the governments and other stakeholders in each country and region need to deploy strategic ways of leveraging technopreneurship to their advantage taking cues from the success stories of technology-based economies.
