Investigates tracer uptake patterns in the scapula after reverse total shoulder arthroplasty, suggesting improved diagnosis of stress fractures.
Stress concentration around the scapula can occur by deltoid tension with increased arm lengthening following reverse total shoulder arthroplasty (RTSA). This phenomenon results in scapular stress reaction (SSR) and fracture (SSF) that may have a negative impact for clinical outcomes. Several studies recommended that SPECT/CT can be a valuable diagnostic modality for early detection of SSRs or nondisplaced SSFs that can prevent displaced SSFs. The purpose of this study was to investigate distribution and pattern of tracer uptake on SPECT/CT images around the scapula after RTSA and to determine the correlation between tracer uptake values and clinical parameters.
