This research demonstrates a novel synthesis of diazadibenzo[cd,h]azulenes, indicating new avenues for chemical exploration.
An efficient approach to hitherto unknown diazadibenzo[ cd,h ]azulenes, 3,4-annulated imidazo[1,2- a ]pyridines containing a seven-membered ring, is described. The synthesis is based on a combination of chemoselective Suzuki-Miyaura and Sonogashira cross-coupling and cyclization by alkyne‑carbonyl metathesis (ACM) reactions. • A variety of hitherto unknown diazadibenzo[ cd , h ]azulenes were efficiently prepared. • The synthesis is based on a combination of chemoselective Suzuki-Miyaura and Sonogashira cross-coupling and cyclization by alkyne‑carbonyl metathesis (ACM) reactions. • Products were obtained in good yields.
