Qualitative policy analysis examines regional economic blocs’ impact on trade in Djibouti, suggesting governance improvements.
The study examines the role of regional economic blocs in facilitating trade and investment among neighboring African states, with a specific focus on Djibouti. A qualitative and comparative policy analysis approach was employed to evaluate the impact of regional blocs on Djibouti's economy and their potential for fostering greater economic cooperation with neighboring states. Findings indicate that while some blocs have successfully boosted intra-regional trade, others struggle with governance issues, leading to uneven development outcomes across member countries. This analysis highlights the need for more coherent governance structures and harmonized regulations within regional economic communities to enhance their effectiveness in promoting shared prosperity. Recommendations include strengthening collaboration among bloc members and improving institutional frameworks to address common challenges effectively.
