Ethnographic exploration reveals how local products gain appeal through cultural integration and sustainability.
Marketing strategies for local products in global markets are increasingly important as consumers worldwide seek authentic experiences and sustainable goods. An ethnographic study was conducted in local markets across Ghana, observing consumer behaviour and business practices over a period of six months. Marketing adaptations vary significantly by region, with a notable trend towards emphasising traditional ingredients and eco-friendly packaging to appeal to global market preferences. The findings suggest that businesses can enhance their marketability in Africa's diaspora markets by integrating cultural elements and sustainable practices into product offerings. Businesses should consider regional consumer insights when developing marketing strategies, particularly focusing on traditional recipes and eco-friendly materials to resonate with diverse global audiences.
