INTRODUCTION: Posterior tibial nerve stimulation is an office-based treatment of urinary urgency with and without incontinence. However, given the need for weekly treatments with this therapy, devices that allow for at-home stimulation of posterior tibial nerve have evolved. Implantable posterior tibial nerve stimulator devices offer a permanent solution to in-office posterior tibial nerve stimulation. Currently, subfascial posterior tibial nerve stimulators are approved for urinary urgency with and without incontinence. OBJECTIVE: Given the recent approval of this device, the objective of this surgical video is to discuss technique for placement of subfascial posterior tibial nerve stimulators and considerations for postoperative care. METHODS: This is surgical video of a subfascial posterior tibial nerve stimulator placement. Written informed was obtained. RESULTS: After watching this video, surgeons will understand the components of the subfascial device system, indications for use, surgical technique for placement, and important considerations for postoperative care. CONCLUSIONS: The subfascial posterior tibial nerve stimulator is permanent solution to office-based posterior tibial nerve stimulation. It offers patients an evidence-based treatment with the flexibility of at-home therapy. This video highlights the subfascial stimulator device system and educates surgeons on its use and placement.
