Observes seismic performance in nuclear power plants, indicating the need for enhanced structural integrity evaluation.
The objectives of this study are: (1) to perform dynamic nonlinear transient simulations using full-scale 3D models of nuclear power plants with the parallel general-purpose finite element structural analysis code ADVENTURE_Solid3FS on the supercomputer Fugaku; and (2) to establish a framework for evaluating the seismic and structural integrity performance of various types of nuclear power plants in a realistic environment. A primary target of the simulation on Fugaku is Unit 1 of the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant, aimed at evaluating its seismic performance.
