The Graduate School of Engineering at Hokkaido University has established the F3 Engineering Education and Research Centre as an educational and research hub for cultivating 'engineering leaders' who can leverage research and development in space, aviation and marine engineering as part of a comprehensive approach to engineering. In 2021, Boeing's externship programme, consisting of five online lectures and a summer seminar, was incorporated into this project, establishing the course 'Systems Engineering I'. Many universities with aerospace majors participate in this program in their own way, coming together for the summer seminar, where they present business proposals in a student competition as a final event. Our university has participated in Boeing's externship programme since 2017, initially as a non-credit educational activity. Since incorporating this program into the curriculum, we have observed clear outcomes from participating students. In this presentation, we will introduce our efforts, including the background to establishing the course, the structure of the lectures, and our methods of motivating students.
