The gasketed connections are used in widely industries like power generation, petro-chemical, manufacturing of semiconductor and food etc…. It is known that the sealing performance of the flange connection with gasket is influenced greatly by the tightening procedure of bolt. So, many studies about the tightening procedure have been performed and some procedures are suggested in the standard like a ASME and JIS. However, almost all of them are for 1 tool. The study about tightening procedure using multiple tools have not been performed well. In this study, the tightening procedures using multiple tools for flange connection with gasket are evaluated. Here, 3 procedures in ASME PCC-1 and 2, 4 and 8 tools with ASME 12”-300 flange connection (welding neck) are evaluated by experiment and finite element analysis.
