In a previous study, noise and vibration analysis was carried out on a spur gear pump. As a result, it was expected that improvements could be made to the gears and case fastening bolts to reduce the noise of the pump. In a subsequent study, it was confirmed that suitable design of the gear tooth profile modification had the effect of suppressing noise. However, no work had been done on improving the bolts with the aim of reducing noise. Therefore, in this study, an attempt was made to improve the bolts with the aim of reducing gear pump noise. It was verified whether pump noise could be reduced by using a vibration-damping alloy with high damping capacity for the bolts.
