The KRESCENT Program enhances kidney research capacity in Canada, suggesting a collaborative and diverse approach.
The Kidney Research Scientist Core Education and National Training (KRESCENT) Program was launched in 2005 as a national partnership between Canada’s leading kidney research and funding organizations. It is a unique initiative designed to enhance kidney research capacity across disciplines and provinces. Unlike traditional nephrology fellowships, KRESCENT recruits trainees from biomedical, clinical, and allied health fields—including non-MD researchers—to cultivate a collaborative and diverse translational kidney research ecosystem.
