Metalloenamines undergo a stereoselective reaction to produce Z,Z,Z-trienylated products, indicating a new synthetic approach.
Metalloenamines, generated through α-deprotonation of N-tert-butanesulfinyl imidates, engage in a stereoselective nucleophilic reaction with tropone oxime tosylates, yielding Z,Z,Z-trienylated products with high efficiency. Remarkable stereocontrol was achieved both in the enantiofacial selectivity of the imidates and in the geometric configuration of the resulting conjugated triene system. This transformation constitutes the first example of the direct asymmetric Z,Z,Z-trienylation of prochiral nucleophiles.
