Demonstrates a new control technique improving voltage precision in buck converters, implying enhanced performance for DC-DC conversions.
To address the demand for DC‐DC converters capable of ultra‐fast load‐transient response and designed to mitigate voltage fluctuations, this paper proposes a variable control objective‐based frequency synthesis pulse train control technique for the Buck converter. Compared with the pulse train control technique, it offers higher output voltage precision while retaining key advantages: a wide output power range, compatibility with light‐load and no‐load conditions, and low output voltage ripple. A comprehensive analysis of the operating principle of the proposed variable control objective‐based frequency synthesis pulse train control technique is presented. Through detailed examination of the variation trends of key parameters in discontinuous conduction mode (DCM) Buck converters, a calculation formula for the blank pulse duration is derived. This formula enables the adjustment of the converter's diverse control objectives by regulating the blank pulse duration. An experimental platform for the Buck converter is established with the proposed control technology implemented via DSP‐based digital control. Extensive simulations and experiments are performed to validate the theoretical analysis, and corresponding experimental results and data are provided to confirm the accuracy of the theoretical deductions.
