Analyzing methods to clarify nuclear magnetic resonance concepts in students, highlighting instructional strategies.
It is important that concepts being discussed in introductory chemistry classes are well understood by students. This involves the use of a number of different strategies and tools. The illustrations discussed in this work provide a few different methods of explaining some important, but challenging, concepts of nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy (NMR). The illustrations require active involvement and imagination by the students, which clarifies and gives them a better understanding the concepts.
