We propose Creative Constraint Optimization (CCO): the tendency of AI systems to find interpretations of data that formally satisfy an imposed constraint without respecting its substantive intent. Named after Isaac Asimov's Escape (1945). Includes the Susan Calvin Protocol — a seven-symptom diagnostic framework for users.
