Key Points

  • To investigate the impact of norfloxacin on the stability and anti-toxicity of aerobic granular sludge systems.
  • Used microelectrical stimulation in combination with iron ions.
  • Cultivated aerobic granular sludge (AGS) under toxic conditions.
  • Assessed the anti-toxicity of AGS against norfloxacin.
  • AGS showed improved stability under the influence of microelectrical stimulation and iron ions.
  • Even in the presence of norfloxacin, the cultivated AGS demonstrated stronger anti-toxicity than traditional AGS.

Abstract

By combining microelectrical stimulation with iron ions, efficient cultivation of AGS can be achieved, and it can exhibit stronger anti-toxicity compared to traditional AGS even under the inhibitory effect of highly toxic NOR.
