Abstract

This document concerns the development and implementation of the TREASURE program (https://www.uc.pt/en/iii/treasure/) in the University of Coimbra (UC) that aims to enable the adoption of and recognize & reward actual implementation of a diverse set of reproducible, reusable and open research (RROR) practices and outputs in the research that is performed across disciplines, focusing its target population in researchers at earlier stages of their career - master's and doctoral candidates. It was designed to be applicable to different disciplines, areas of knowledge, and ways to perform research. In Part 1 – Final Report - we detail the main achievements from the institutional pilot project TREASURE with the development and implementation of a training & certification program at the University of Coimbra. Here, key performance indicators measured at the program uptake will be reported. In this part, we will highlight lessons taken from the successes, hurdles and challenges faced through this process. Finally, we will list supporting resources resulting from the project. In Part 2 – Implementation Guide – we present implementation steps based on lessons learned that we hope useful for other organizations who may want to implement similar programs. Through this part, we will highlight key points from each section, the CoARA commitments addressed underlying each action, and the TREASURE outputs that can be used to support similar types of programs. The work was supported by the CoARA Boost funding program, first call (2024), https://www.coara.org/coara-boost-cascade-funding/first-call-cascade-funding/cascade-funding-projects-1/.
