Prototype improves temperature detection with phonon-photon interaction in optical fibers, suggesting applications in quantum technologies.
A prototype of an optical temperature sensor made of ground optical fiber with electrically modulating phonon-photon interaction on a rough surface simulating Bragg grating effects is proposed and experimentally tested to improve detection by increasing the surface area and electrically modulating the active sensor part. The possibilities of applying the circuit in noise-immune temperature monitoring and combining the sensor with light cages technologies in quantum information science are discussed.
