Key Points

  • The research investigates the morphometric and hydrological characteristics of the Rishi Khola drainage basin.
  • Conducted quantitative evaluation of stream features.
  • Analyzed three major sub basins: Rishi Khola, Relli Khola, and Mandam Khola.
  • Considered parameters like bifurcation ratio and mean length.
  • Identified distinct geomorphological characteristics of the basin.
  • Highlighted the influence of morphometric features on river dynamics.

Abstract

Morphometric analysis is refers as quantitative evaluation of the earth surface and any kind of landform dimension with an ambition to enumerate the detail parameters of morpho-tectonic and also enduring of the hydrological condition of the region. Morphometric parameters considered for analysis includes different aspect of river basin. 3 major sub basins consist in this river basin such as Rishi khola itself, Relli khola and Mandam khola river basin. This study helps to know the Hydrological and Geomorphological characteristics of the basin. River change his course simultaneously and it flow its new channel. Morphological features in this river is too attract for people. Morphometry of river like Stream length, Bifurcation ratio, Mean length prepared beautiful river characteristics.
