We present a novel Variational Free Energy (VFE) application for zero-shot AMR identification. By treating diagnostics as categorical inference within a structural generative model—rather than distributive ML—we map clinical phenotypes to mechanisms via EUCAST 2024 logic. This minimizes surprise to identify resistance without prior training
