Microwave-assisted synthesis demonstrates antioxidant potential in a novel thiazole compound, suggesting beneficial properties.
The microwave-assisted improved synthesis of ethyl 2-(2-((6-methyl-4-oxo-4H-chromen-3-yl)methylene)hydrazinyl)thiazole-4-carboxylate is described. The antioxidant potential of the target compound was evaluated using spectrophotometric methods, including the DPPH• and ABTS•⁺ radical scavenging assays, as well as three additional electron-transfer assays employing metal-based oxidizing agents. The title compound exhibited good antioxidant activity compared to reference antioxidants. For the title compound theoretical quantum chemical (DFT) calculations were performed.
