Museums and Libraries : Document space and organization of knowledge. This research proposes to analyze proximity and distance between the two cultural places that library and museum represent, in order to comprehend how permanence and change confront each other in these two areas, both devoted to document and knowledge. The purpose is to examine, through this dual perspective, the organization of knowledge confronted to the organization of space, especially the staging of documents, in order to understand the importance of spatial methods in mediation through conditions of enunciation. Thus, the space to be seen and the practised space offer cognitive appropriation which enables one to perceive space as a structuring element in the organizing of knowledge – in a function of either conservation or display – in their implementation as well as in the choice of mediation.
