Development of Rapid-Cooling System for Single Cell Imaging Using Time-of-Flight Secandary Ion Mass Spectrometry

The imaging of biological tissues is attracted considerable attention. Aiming at the high-spatial resolution imaging of biological sample, a rapid-cooling method and an introduction system were newly developed so as to prevent both the evaporation of volatile compounds and adhesion of ambient air under high vacuum condition. The observation of sample surface and TOF-SIMS analysis of frozen for biological sample were performed. Therefore, TOF-SIMS analysis with raw state became possible.
