Explores how creative interpretations of deviant sentences occur in different languages, suggesting cognitive similarities and differences.
In a recent paper I have discussed about some metaphorical expressions and observed that by virtue of the common ability in our brains we can give some`creative'interpretations even to the phreses which are peculiar to an individual language such as`a pink program'or`a black(or dark)eye',although we have to recognize,of course, the comparative gaps in the quality of readings between the speakers of different languages. Now our concern is to extend the range of our investigations a little more and to go further into the core of the creative mind.We shall here make a brief survey on the interpretive processes of deviant sentences in relation to their production mechanism.|本論文は、Morita(1992)と一体を成するものである。
