Constructs the trans-decalin moiety in pyrroindomycins, suggesting pathways for full structural determination.
Natural products in the pyrroindomycin family have attracted considerable interest because of their antimicrobial activity, complex structures, and biosynthetic route. However, parts of their structures remain incompletely determined, and there are no reports of a total synthesis to date. In this study, we report on construction of the trans ‐decalin moiety of pyrroindomycins. This knowledge will aid in the determination of the full structure and experimental reproduction of the biosynthesis.
