Derives equations for moiré patterns in concentric circles, indicating their usefulness in strain analysis.
In this paper the fundamental equations of moire fringes produced by parallel straight lines, concentric circles and spirals are derived. Also we derived approximate equations by which reliable reaults can be obtained in the analysis of twodimensional strains. The moiré patterns produced by two sets of concentric circles are radial straight lines and we can determine the distance between the centers of the concentric cirles by counting the numbers of these lines.
